First Snow at Camas Meadows........

Thanksgiving seems to be the time for first snows at Camas Meadows.  It was only six inches, but gives every indication of sticking around for the entire winter.  The sun covered peaks of Three Brothers Mountain, however, are totally white for the winter.

Winter is a time of quiet.  The elk have moved to their winter ranger on the Columbia River.  Most birds have moved south for the winter.  The coyote's are still hanging around the meadow and at night you can catch their performances by walking out on the deck.

Soon the next couple of storms will put a mantle of snow on the meadow.  That will be the start of cross-country skiing season on the meadow.

We are starting to book the month of January.  However, there are plenty of openings in December including the all important days of Christmas week and New Year's.   Book now if you are looking forward to exploring the snow covered mountains and meadows of the east slope of the Cascades.
